Tonight we braved a the craziest downpour of the season and attended ASIFA-SF'S screening of this year's Academy Awards nominees for the animated short. What was really cool was that we hosted three of the nominees! Tony and Tom Bancroft just interviewed Don Hahn at the Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco. It was a live recording for their podcast, "The Bancroft Brothers" and my animation buddy Kota and I were both present. There was a huge exhibition at the museum in honor of Mel Shaw, one of Disney's greatest visual designers and story artists from the golden age of animation. Check out the episode! IT'S FINALLY DONE!!!!!! This animation production was a four year long labor of love, made by a very determined and driven animator, Kota Dimeler. The music video is for Skeleton Staff who identify a Psych-pop folk glam baroque’n’roll ensemble from Sydney, Australia. I animated a handful of shots in this production, which you can see on my demo reel.
In my upcoming comic book, Practically an Idiot: Vol 2, I absolutely need model sheets to follow. The age range in this book is covering almost twenty years of time, so I had to establish consistency with the character [myself] growing up.
